SERVICE DOCUMENT · FOR YOUR INSURER
Chimney sweeping certificate for your insurance
After each inspection, we give you a detailed report of the work carried out. We clearly explain what this document is and is not, so you can determine whether it meets your policy's requirements.
Many home insurance policies include a clause on the maintenance of fireplaces and wood-burning stoves. If a fire occurs because of a build-up of soot or creosote and you cannot prove that the installation had been inspected, the insurer may reduce or even deny the payout. That is why more and more customers ask us for a document they can keep with their policy — and why we believe it is important to explain exactly what we provide.
What we provide
The report you receive after each inspection includes:
Service details
Date, address, type of installation (fireplace, stove or boiler) and description of the work carried out.
Inspection result
Condition of the flue before and after, including what was seen with the inspection camera when one was used.
Before/after photographs
Visual evidence of the condition of the installation and the work carried out, where relevant.
El Foc a Terra invoice
Tax document issued in our company's name, with all the details of the service provided.
Preparing this report involves additional work for our team (writing, photographs, data checks), so there is a small additional charge on top of the inspection price. Ask us for the amount when you book your visit.
What this document is (and is not)
We prefer you to have this clear before you book, not after something unexpected happens.
Frequently asked questions
Is the certificate you provide officially valid?
No. It is a report issued by El Foc a Terra as a company that documents the work carried out. It is not an official accreditation or an approved seal issued by any authority.
Is it accepted by every insurer?
We cannot guarantee that. Each company has its own requirements; we recommend confirming it directly with your insurer before booking the service.
Do you have RASIC accreditation?
No. RASIC is a specific register for companies that maintain shared thermal installations (communal boilers) under the RITE regulations. If your residential community needs this specific type of accreditation, tell us and we will advise you.
What exactly does the report include?
Date, address, type of installation, description of the work carried out and photographs where relevant. We also provide our company's invoice.
Can I request changes to the report if my insurer needs something different?
Yes, within reason. Tell us what your insurer requires and we will adapt the document whenever possible.
Is there an additional charge for the certificate?
Yes. Preparing the report involves extra work for our team, so there is a small additional charge on top of the inspection price. Ask us for the exact amount when you book your visit.
