CAMERA INSPECTION · INTERNAL FLUE DIAGNOSIS
Chimney camera inspection: we see what cannot be seen
We insert a high-resolution camera into the flue and see its actual internal condition. Cracks, blockages, fractures, nests. Everything documented with images. No guesswork.
A chimney can appear to work properly from the outside while having a serious problem inside. The flue runs for metres and cannot be seen with the naked eye. A camera inspection is the only way to know for certain what is inside — without building work, breaking walls or making assumptions.
What do we detect during the inspection?
The inside of the flue reveals problems that cannot be seen any other way.
Cracks and fractures
Cracks in the internal liner can allow carbon monoxide to enter the home. We detect them before they become dangerous.
Advanced creosote build-up
Level 3 creosote has a shiny appearance and can burn at over 1,000 degrees. We identify it accurately and explain your options.
Blockages and nests
Bird nests, compacted soot or debris can partially block the flue and cause draught problems or a fire risk.
Deterioration of the liner
Older flues without a liner, or with a deteriorated liner, may not meet current safety regulations.
Poor connections
In buildings with shared flues, we detect improper connections between floors that can allow smoke from other properties to enter.
Report with images
We document our findings with stills from the most relevant images. If anything needs repairing, we give you a quote before doing any work.
How a camera inspection works
Visual inspection of the fireplace
We start by visually inspecting the fireplace, opening and area around the flue to identify any possible external problems.
Insertion of the flexible camera
We insert the high-resolution camera into the flue, recording real-time images along the entire internal route.
Analysis and explanation of our findings
We explain what we have found straight away, in clear language and without jargon. No surprises and no beating around the bush.
Report and quote if repairs are needed
If we detect anything that needs fixing, we give you a quote before doing any work. We never proceed without your approval.
When is a camera inspection essential?
There are situations where sweeping is not enough — you need to know what is inside:
How much does it cost?
The indicative price for a camera inspection is 120 to 180 euros, depending on the length of the flue and the complexity of the installation. If the inspection is followed by sweeping or repairs, the price is adjusted. We give you the exact price before we start.

Frequently asked questions about camera inspections
Is any building work required for the inspection?
No. A camera inspection is completely non-invasive. There is no need to break walls or carry out any building work. We only need access to the fireplace and, if possible, the flue outlet.
What happens if you find something that needs repairing?
We explain it straight away and give you a quote before doing any work. We never start a repair without your explicit approval.
Do you provide the inspection images?
Yes. The report includes the most relevant images showing the internal condition of the flue. You can keep this documentation for reference or submit it to your insurer.
Does the inspection replace chimney sweeping?
They are complementary services. The inspection tells you the condition of the flue; sweeping leaves it in optimum condition. In many cases we do both during the same visit.
