Longer, colder winters
A chimney in the Pyrenees can be in use for 6-7 months a year. That is twice as long as on the plains — and means twice the soot and creosote build-up.

In mountain areas, a great deal of local firewood is burned — and it is not always perfectly dry. Damp firewood produces more creosote, the main cause of chimney-fire risk.

Do you charge extra for travel to mountain areas?
Travel is calculated according to the actual distance from Igualada and is always included in the fixed price we confirm before the appointment — we do not apply hidden surcharges for the area, altitude or difficulty of access. What we quote is what we charge.
How far in advance should I book an appointment in the Pyrenees?
In peak season (September–November), we recommend booking 2-3 weeks in advance, especially in more remote areas. In low season, we can usually attend within 3-5 days.
Do you visit second homes as well as primary residences?
We visit all types of property — second homes, farmhouses, rural apartments, tourist accommodation and primary residences. A chimney needs to be inspected regardless of how often the house is used.
How much does it cost to sweep a chimney in the Pyrenees?
The indicative price for a standard open fireplace is between €80 and €180. The exact price depends on the type and condition of the installation. We confirm it before we start — no surprises and no small print.
